Gavin Hewitt

I’m Gavin Hewitt, I’m 42 years old and have been Carping for 25 years+. I learnt my craft from my late father who himself was an accomplished angler on the local scene down here in Plymouth in the South West of England. I’m currently a member of Emperor lakes Syndicate in Devon and try to get on the bank every other weekend and a few nights in the week when family commitments allow.

I suppose the thing that really appeals to me is the constant challenge that is trying to stay 1 step ahead of the Carp. From tweaking rigs to feature finding I relish the challenge and try to learn something new from my experiences each time I visit whether i catch or not. I travel to France 3 to 4 times a year on both a social as well as working basis (Lake Maintenance) and really enjoy nature and my surroundings.

Personal Best wise I have the following:-

UK PB Mirror 45lb 2oz;  UK PB Common 41lb 9oz

Foreign PB Mirror 54lb;  Foreign PB Common 53lb 12oz
