Dean Aldridge

I’m a 51 year old who’s a keen enthusiast fisherman from Kent. My dad introduced me to match fishing as a small boy, and eventually introduced me to carp and pike fishing at the age of 16. I had a 5 year period where I couldn’t fish, due to having young children and some other important things. But I managed to bag myself a respectable 36’1/2ld carp, and a 28ld river pike while part of the PAC. Fishing for carp a good few years back, I accidentally hooked and landed my first catfish – a 12lb albino, the fight of the fish had me hooked! It’s been catfish ever since. I’ve been lucky enough to land three 99lb UK catfish and and eventually three 100lb+ UK catfish with a PB of 104lb and potentially the UK’s biggest brace – 99.7lb & 100.15lb in a night. I enjoy getting to know a lake and it’s features, which helps as my favourite methods of fishing are on the bottom.
